About

Hello! My name is Jason Tanner. I am the bassist and founding member of JONAH LADD and THE SUNSET BAND. We are a Syracuse, NY-based country folk and American rock outfit delivering a classic singer-songwriter experience. Anchored by the soulful vocals and songwriting of founder Jonah Ladd, our band weaves a nostalgic yet fresh sound powered by bassist Jason Tanner, pedal steel player Cody Witherall, and drummer Mike Patterson. Our group brings a warm, familiar energy to the stage, blending a curated selection of iconic covers with their own powerful original material. Live sets pay tribute to legendary storytellers and modern roots heavyweights alike, featuring the music of Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Neil Young, Toby Keith, Zach Top, and The Band. We recently cut our debut original single, "Six Feet Deep," recorded in our private studio under the production of Langston Masingale. Currently back in the studio crafting our next acoustic-driven track, "Lemon Trees," Jonah Ladd and the Sunset Band continue to establish our sound as a must-see fixture of the Central New York music scene. This is my own personal website, but I also help handle booking, live sound, and media for the band. I provide services for mixing and mastering live performances to audio as well. Please reach out with any questions regarding booking for live performances. We perform live at parties, weddings, and any event you need us for. Professional live sound is always provided. I will always get back to you as soon as possible.
